SUMMARY
The incumbent will serve as the restaurants resident wine expert providing guests with information regarding the wine selection and offering solid recommendations for pairing the food with wine.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED required Minimum 2 years experience working as a sommelier. Diploma as a sommelier required. Bachelor’s degree in hotel or restaraunt management preferred.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to pair wines with foods, recommending those that will compliment the styles of cuisine and method of preparations.
- Must be able to decant properly older vintages, with the showmanship and standards required of traditional wine service
- Must be able to provide great wine service and take advantage of all opportunities to increase beverage sales.
- Must possess knowledge of both food and beverage items.
- Must have good communication skills
- Must undergo TIPS training on an ongoing basis.
- Must have excellent appearance and polished presentation, and Unlimited Enthusiasm.
- Exceptional guest service skills.
- Must be able to work standing for long periods of time.
