Okeechobee High’s Rodeo Team Competes in Two Day Event

BRANFORD, FL — The Okeechobee High School’s rodeo team traveled to Branford, Fla., Near the Georgia state line, to compete in a two day rodeo. This event took place the weekend of Oct. 7 and 8.

Seth Randolph, son of Jerry Randolph and Donna Turtle of Brighton, and Jacoby Johns, son of Jeff and Wendy Johns also of Brighton are members of the Florida High School Rodeo Association and represented the team.

Randolph competed in the bull riding event and Johns competed in the bareback riding event.

Hilliard Gopher, son of Beulah Gopher of Brighton is also a member of the Florida High School Rodeo Association and is a student at the First Indian Baptist Association School. Hilliard competes in the team roping event.

All three Brighton boys have grown up rodeoing as members of the Eastern Rodeo Association and come from a fine generation of talented cowboys. The entire Okeechobee rodeo team did a fantastic job bringing home many titles including two championship titles.

Special congratulations to Johns for claiming second place in the bareback event on Oct. 8, which tied him for second in the average for the weekend.
