July 4th CelebrationBRIGHTON — The Brighton community began its 4th of July celebration with the kids fishing tournament held on July 1.
Kids ranging from ages 5–17 gathered at the trading post campground to try their luck at fishing in the pound located behind the store. There were kids fishing on every side of the pond despite the blanket of lily pads that covered most of it. They were trying their luck with worms, crickets, bread, and shiners with which a large bass was caught by William Bearden. (continue...)

Tommie Goes Back to SchoolNo matter your age, whether you have already raised a family or not, Danny Tommie proves anyone can go back to school and get their college degree. Tommie received his bachelor of art’s degree from Florida Atlantic University in the field of marketing and management in December 2005.
