HOLLYWOOD — On Nov. 15 standings for high school basketball ratings came out. Junior Chelsea Mountain, freshman Tianna Garcia, and injured junior point guard Demetria Tigertail, all play on the varsity basketball team at American Heritage School.

Mountain brings leadership coming off the bench and with her three point shooting and rebounding skills the team is sure to be successful. Junior Miss Seminole and freshman Tianna Hally Garcia will be a new member on this very skilled team. She will play some on the junior varsity and varsity team.

The injured Demetria Tigertail is the missing piece to the puzzle and with lots of physical therapy and time on the bench helping the coaches take stats, will be returning later in the season. She tore her ACL and medial meniscus and strained her MCL in a USSSA tournament early this summer and is forced to miss the first half of the season.

The American Heritage girl’s basketball team is ranked number one in the preseason picks in class 3A, 2A and 1A. They have a player on their team, Taylor Smith, who is top five in the county.
