HOLLYWOOD - The Board of Directors took a major step towards expanding its cattle operations with the approval of a land lease and loan at the Board meeting held on Aug. 24.
The actions cleared the way for the purchase of cattle and entrance into an agricultural grazing lease with Willowbrook Farms of Highlands County.
In other business, the Board:
* requested the return of timber and trust income, with interest, from the U.S. Treasury for the Board's operating expenses for fiscal year 2000.
* approved a one-year revocable permit to Seminole Exchange Inc. for the use of the old Teddy Nelson property next to Montessori School.
President Mitchell Cypress announced that the Board, in cooperation with the Tribal Council, was still researching the proposed Immokalee hotel project.
