Board Addresses New Resolutions

HOLLYWOOD - The Board of Directors held a regular meeting Jan. 29 to receive updates on Board programs and consider a short list of resolutions.
*Accepted Willie Johns, of the Brighton reservation, into the Cattle Program.
*Approved the use of the Seminole citrus grove land in the Big Cypress Forested Wetland Demonstration Project.
*Approved a proposal to be sent to the U.S. Department of Agriculture for Technical Assistance Training funds in the amount of $50,000.
*Approved the use of two locations on the Big Cypress Reservation for the Wetland Reserve Program. The program will utilize 81 acres in the pasture of Chairman James Billie and 70 acres in the pasture of Jack Motlow.
*Approved a request for an additional date extension of the Cattle Raisers' Agreement from the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The extension will last until April 1.
*Approved the re-location of Elton C. Baxley from his present big Cypress pasture to that of Bill Osceola Jr.
*Approved the Seminole Tribe of Florida, Inc. Self-insured Medical Expense Reimbursement Program.
*Tabled the Seminole Tribe of Florida, Inc., Drug Free Work Place Policy.
*Secretary-Treasurer Priscilla Sayen announced 1099 tax forms would be distributed along with dividends to Tribal members on Feb. 2
The Board of Directors will meet again on Jan. 23.
